A Request for Proposal (RFP) Template for Next-Generation IP Communications Systems

v1.0, August 3, 2007

IP-based communications—from Instant Messaging to VoIP to WiFi to videoconferencing—has so changed the face of human interaction that traditional criteria for comparing and procuring classic "PBX" systems simply no longer apply. Additionally, new communications applications and services are evolving so quickly that past methods for evaluating competitive products also now are largely obsolete.

This document is intended to be a forward-looking RFP/RFI (request for proposal/information) aid for large enterprises seeking to apply "future-proof" thinking to their next major communications system procurement.

We want this RFP/RFI to be a community product, and we need your help to make it a real-world document. Please feel free to download and use it however you'd like, but also consider contributing to the effort. If you have a suggestion for how to improve the basic template, you can EDIT (Editing help) the main document. Or if you customize the whole document or a major section of it for your own use, or have an entirely different RFP/RFI template that you use/plan to use, consider adding that document to the site as new pages for others to see and comment on.

You will need to register with a valid email address to view or edit this document.
