At Nortel, Phil has led the development of VoIP solutions and multimedia communications as well as IP transport technology. Fred is responsible for leading IBM?s IP communications efforts. IP communications encompasses Voice-over-IP, IP Telephony and advanced IP convergence applications such as audio/video conferencing, unified messaging and click-to-call. Fred is also driving IBM?s converged communications solutions program. This program employs Service Oriented Architecture to embed IPC communications into line-of-business applications such as ERP, CRM and HR, thereby delivering business value in the form of reduced time-to-market, and improved customer service, process effectiveness, and personal productivity. For the four years from 2001 through 2004, Fred was Director of Data Networks and Voice Systems within the IBM CIO?s office. In this capacity, Mr. Spulecki was responsible for strategy, architecture, standards and deployment management related to IBM?s global data network, telephony systems, and contact center infrastructure. His leadership drove the introduction of voice/data convergence and IP Telephony technology within IBM. With over 80,000 IP phones, 160,000 toll bypass users, and 60,000,000 minutes per month of SIP-based IP audio conferencing, IBM has become a leader in deploying and using IP communications.

As Chief Technology Architect of Coca-Cola Enterprises Business Information Systems Group, Mr. Repic has responsibility to ensure that strategic technology plans of the IT department are in alignment with strategic plans of the business. He provides guidance to the organization around technology directions and leads a team of architects who are responsible for the development and enhancement of Coca-Cola Enterprises Enterprise Technical Architecture. Mr. Repic also has responsibility for the Infrastructure PMO which allows linkage from technology strategy creation to operational execution. Mr. Repic has identified and developed several new IT organizations during his 17+ years of service with Coca-Cola Enterprises including National Client Services, Network Planning and Technology Planning. Previously, he was an engineer with Rockwell International specializing in conceptual spacecraft design utilizing state of the art development tools.
As corporate vice president of the Unified Communications Group (UCG), Anoop Gupta leads Microsoft?s client-server-service efforts to provide business communications solutions (e-mail, IM, VoIP, unified messaging, audio/video/Web conferencing) and platform components. His team is responsible for Microsoft Exchange Server, Speech Server, Office Communicator Server, Office Communicator products, Live Meeting and Exchange Hosted Services businesses. Before leading the Unified Communications Group, Gupta was technology assistant to Bill Gates, Microsoft?s chairman. In that role, Gupta helped define the company?s strategy for real-time collaboration. Before joining Microsoft in 1997, Gupta was a professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University for 11 years. His research at Stanford spanned computer architecture, operating systems, programming languages, simulation and performance debugging tools, and parallel applications.. Gupta has published more than 100 papers in major conferences and journals, including several that have won awards. He has contributed to more than 40 patents. With David Culler and Jaswinder Pal Singh, he co-authored the book "Parallel Computer Architecture: A Hardware-Software Approach" in 1998. He received the National Science Foundation (NSF) Presidential Young Investigator Award in 1990, and he held the Robert N. Noyce Faculty Scholar Chair at Stanford for 1993 and 1994. Before joining Stanford in 1987, Gupta was on the research faculty at Carnegie Mellon University, where he received his Ph.D. in computer science in 1986. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, where he graduated, receiving the President?s Gold Medal in 1980.

Mathew Frazer is Vice President of the Genesys Enterprise Solutions Group ("GES") responsible for launching the Genesys intiatives outside of the Contact Center. The GES team leverages Genesys' #1 market position in the Contact Center. The group?s first product, the Genesys Enterprise Technology Software (?GETS") for Microsoft's Live Communication Server ("LCS") was launched in April 2005. GETS for LCS is deployed across Global 2000 companies worldwide including 50,000 seats at Microsoft. The goal of the GES team is to see Genesys on every desktop within the enterprise. Prior to his eight years at Genesys, Mathew worked at Netscape Communications and spent nine years in venture capital and investment banking. Riordan set up Touchbase from the bedroom of his East London flat in 1992, with the help of his father and his closest friend. Their objectives for Touchbase were to create a company that could provide education, progression, growth and opportunities for all its people and that would deliver an exceptional experience to every client. Riordan?s aspirations to grow a global organisation were closer to becoming reality in 1998 when Touchbase launched in Madrid and then Paris, Dublin and Manchester in 2000. In 2002, Joel helped organize and acquire equity funding for Metreos as Founder and General Partner of Wavefront Ventures. From September 2003 until its sale to Cisco Systems, Inc., Joel served as President and CEO of Metreos the industry?s first communications application environment enabling the rapid development, reliable execution and automated management of VoIP applications that combine voice and data. Prior to his work with Metreos, he Co-Founded and served as President of Netrake Corporation creator of the industry?s first session border controller. Mr. Fontenot incubated Netrake through his activities as a Founding Partner and Managing Director of Arkoma Venture Partners. Mr. Fontenot is a member of the Executive Board of the School of Engineering (Chairman of the Finance Committee) at Southern Methodist University. He also serves on the Advisory Council for the Entrepreneur Foundation of North Texas and the Advisory Board of Silver Creek Ventures. Prior to his current role on Exchange, Ressler served as speech assistant for Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates. Dr M-H Carolyn Nguyen is the Director of Avaya's Global Mobility Strategy, responsible for driving the company's vision for enterprise-enabled mobility. This involves creating the strategic framework, product realisation, forming alliances, as well as business and market development. Previously, she was responsible for developing technology strategy in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Carolyn joined the EMEA region in June 2004 from the Avaya CTO organisation, where she created Avaya's current strategy in converged communications and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). Also, she was the Acting Director of Strategy and Business Development for the Appliances division. Before that, she was a Brookings Congressional Fellow in 1999, where she developed technology policies and authored legislation on electronic commerce and technology commercialisation. Her previous experience includes Bell Laboratories, where she was responsible for several key initiatives in distributed applications and data networking protocols. Kevin P. Fleming has been programming computers for over two decades in every major programming language, and many minor ones. He has worked in fields such as traditional client/server database applications, opensource messaging and networking, mainframe operating system and warehouse automation. Kevin's primary skills are problem analysis and solution design, and producing optimal solutions that use resources efficiently and effectively. Kevin has been an active member of the worldwide open source community for over five years, and has made contributions to many projects, including the Linux kernel, the Exim SMTP MTA and the OpenVPN network tunneling package. He fervently believes that open source software is the 'right' way to do things and strives to use open source solutions whenever possible. In June of 2005, Kevin became a full time employee of Digium, and began managing the 'bug tracker' and the community interaction related to it. Over the remainder of the year, the amount of work involved increased substantially as the Asterisk community continued to grow and more users became contributors to the open source project. At Astricon 2005, Mark Spencer officially announced that Kevin is the 'co-maintainer' of the Asterisk development tree (along with Mark himself) and since that time they have produced the Asterisk 1.2 release and are working to increase Asterisk's power, flexibility and performance.

Todd Landry Bio Todd Landry is the Vice President of Product Management and Marketing for Sphere Communications where he oversees the company?s product strategies and go-to-market activities, including alliances and channel development. An accomplished speaker Landry can be seen in numerous forums, panels and keynotes that include topics such as market changes and impacts, business applications for technology, case studies, industry direction and others. He has joined many industry experts from top analysts, technology vendors and end users of existing and new technologies and has focused on the real value in leveraging technology for business. Previously a vice president at CommWorks Corporate, a subsidiary of 3Com Corporation, Landry oversaw multiple business lines of network access systems and software. He directed a team of Product Management, Marketing, Applications Engineering, Customer Proposals and Technical Publications organizations to provide the delivery tools for product life cycle management, market delivery, sales and customer & industry interaction. Landry has been involved in the telecommunications industry for over 20 years including over 7 years in senior positions with U.S. Robotics Network Systems, where he was responsible for the award winning Total Control product line of carrier Internet access, voice over IP, and 3G wireless data product lines. Landry?s background in engineering, marketing, and business, combined with knowledge of software & system architectures and a strong customer emphasis create a unique foundation of knowledge. Landry has served on numerous industry standards bodies and was selected to serve on the board of directors for the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions. He?s earned numerous awards, including multiple new product achievement awards, product of the year awards, advertising achievement awards, and holds two patents in the area of communications and wireless systems.
Speaker - Fergal Glynn [ Presentation], Architect, Blue Note Networks
Fergal Glynn is BlueNote Networks architect and plays a principal role in the architecture, design, and product strategy of the SessionSuite products. Glynn is responsible for the company's technical roadmap and plays an active part in day-to-day design and development of future products. He is also involved in sales and marketing support for all aspects of the product line's specification and positioning. Prior to BlueNote Networks, Glynn was a network architect at Fidelity Investments. In this role, he was responsible for the creation of Fidelity's long-term technical vision and the development of innovative solutions for improving Fidelity's global network. His primary areas of focus were Instant Messaging and Collaboration; SIP Telephony; Pervasive Network Security; Internet/Extranet Perimeter Security; Firewall Design and evaluation; and Unified Messaging. While at Fidelity, Glynn worked on cutting edge VoIP technologies that became the origins of BlueNote Networks. Glynn started his career with Oracle in Dublin, Ireland. Mr. Glynn graduated with honors from the University of Limerick, Ireland with a B.Eng. in Computer Engineering.

Lawrence Byrd Director, IP Telephony and Mobility Avaya Lawrence Byrd is Director of IP Telephony and Mobility and helps drive the definition and communication of Avaya?s intelligent communications strategy. Lawrence has over fifteen years of telephony, CRM and contact center experience and over twenty-five years of advanced software and Internet experience. Lawrence was co-founder of Quintus Corporation in 1984, a provider of multimedia contact center software, which was acquired by Avaya in 2001. Lawrence has a BA in Philosophy from Durham, England, was a research associate in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and now lives with his family in California.
